| | | I was scheduled to go on a cruise for a teacher's convention, leaving from Orlando, Florida. I was feeling quite tired from my move into my new condo and was not really looking forward to going on the cruise (crazy, huh, to not be looking forward to going on a cruise). When Renee, my cabin mate, and I arrived in Orlando I was ready to call it a night, but decided anyway to join Renee and her friend, Dexter, for supper. As we were conversing and enjoying each other's company, I remember thinking to myself that this could be a guy I could marry. He was easy to talk with, funny, spiritual, and intriquing. While on the cruise, thoughts of Dexter kept coming to mind. I was quite excited when he called later.
He is the man that God promised to me twelve years ago and I look forward to spending my life with him. |
 | | About six years ago, I called my friend Renee in Vancouver, Canada, and I wanted to know if she had any quality friends that she could hook me up with. She ran through a list of friends and I kept telling her those wouldn't work. Then she spoke of an old friend from college, who she described as humble, spiritual, easy-going, and slim. I got excited immediately and wanted an introduction with her friend, Elizabeth. Someone told Renee match making is wrong, so she refused to connect me with Elizabeth. I made several attempts to reach out to Elizabeth on Facebook with zero success. Five years later, Renee told me she was coming to go on a cruise from Orlando, Florida and Elizabeth would be her cabin mate. Those years of longing to meet Elizabeth came to life and I told Renee I would take them both out for supper and breakfast before the cruise. I traveled four hours to Orlando and found Elizabeth to be ten times sweeter and more adorable than Renee had described. Renee had given me Elizabeth's number before they got to Orlando so I could connect with them. During their stay in Florida I kept calling Elizabeth's phone pretending I was calling for Renee. The rest is history... |
